Mermay fic! Sage of Truth (called blueberry milk) is a Researcher, and TR is a siren.
Blueberry Milk researches behaviours and habitats for Mers. One day, he's sent out on a task by the Researchers higher up than him; to investigate newly discovered Mer territory. However, amid making new friendships, he meets something strange with such an alluring song that seems to beckon him towards it every time he hears it. What a wonder! If only he was allowed to research things that weren't Merfolk, huh?

She nodded slowly. “Yes. You’ll be doing this for upwards of a month- could last as long as a year, depending on what you need to investigate- to find out what you can about that specific pod and it’s territory, and you will be required with doing a detailed report during your task. Can you do that?”

Summary
The idea of becoming Shadow Milk's literal plaything should have been nothing but abhorrent. Truthless Recluse had already given up so much at the hands of the Beast, did he really need to give up his will as well? Or, if he couldn't find the heart to be offended, he at least should have had the self preservation to not want to be utterly mindless in his grasp.
Except Recluse was just weary enough to deeply crave the sweet escape that Shadow Milk was promising.
