“No, no! Not like that,” Jeongguk rushes to clarify. “I meant more like… emotionally. Emotional payback.”
“How exactly would that work?” Jimin asks, bemused.
“Well, what if we could…” Jeongguk waves his hands in the air vaguely. “Maybe, potentially, make them jealous? Of us?”
“Of us?” Jimin repeats flatly.
Jeongguk looks him dead in the eye and says, far too seriously for the words that come out of his mouth, “By pretending to be a couple.”
in which jimin is used to being burned and jeongguk just wants to be in control for once. the two join forces to get back at their shitty exes, but catching feelings along the way was never part of the plan.

Jimin turned sharply, shoving him back hard enough to make him stumble.
“Leave me the fuck alone,” Jimin snapped, his voice cutting, louder than he intended but he didn’t care. A couple people nearby slowed, glancing over. “I don’t know why I listened to anything you ever told me.”
