The second, the persistent looming cosmic threat of chakra permeating every aspect of this world (which no one else finds concerning). Kakashi stared at the file of his former teammate's protégée with suspicion. At first, there was nothing particularly special about it. The girl was talented, sure, but so was the Uchiha and, in a way, so was the Uzumaki.
It only took him two words to understand Rin's apprehension.
The space left for her father's name was blank, but right under it, where her mother's name should be, there was something that made him pale.
He had to read it again, but the words didn't change.
Senju Tsunade.
The Hokage was really leaving him in charge of the jinchūriki of the Kyūbi, the last Uchiha and the last Senju - the only daughter of Senju Tsunade herself, no less.

Summary
Itachi had done many things he wasn't proud of. No matter how one might try to justify it, he had undeniably committed unforgivable crimes for what he believed to be the greater good. To make matters even worse, despite his best efforts, his actions hadn't ended up in Sasuke's favour at all, causing him only even more pain instead. The one thing he could confidently say he had done right was stopping the Edo Tensei and showing Sasuke the whole truth, but that didn't make up for a lifetime of mistakes.
With that in mind, waking up as a child nearly twenty years in the past was understandably a shock. After all, weren't there others who deserved a second chance more than he did? People who could do more good than him?
It was he who had ultimately been granted this opportunity, however, so it was up to him to seize it and create a better future. One in which his clan didn't have to die, Madara would be stopped, and, most importantly of all, Sasuke could be happy.
Itachi was going to make sure of it.
