You and Jaafar have been close friends since your early Uni days. You met at a random party in LA and just clicked. He has been an active part of your life since then - your friendship is solid and genuine.
You are now in a MFA program for creative writing and Jaafar has wrapped up his first big movie, Michael, and is now using his freetime to get back to his personal life. While he is done with PR requirements and promoting the movie, you are working on your thesis (a novel manuscript).

Summary
