It would almost be comical to watch Mu Qing advancing as Xie Lian tests how fast he can fucking chew, if the stakes weren’t a choice between Xie Lian moving between realms as he pleases and being trapped here for the rest of his immortal life.
Mu Qing comes to a stop in front of the God of Spring, wrenching the pomegranate out of his hand at the same moment that Xie Lian smiles and opens his mouth.

Summary
Hua Cheng is smitten with Xie Lian from almost the first moment she sees her, when the woman turns up at her flower shop and asks for help in picking out a plant for her apartment.
But then Xie Lian keeps returning, seemingly cursed with the inability to keep any plant alive for longer than two weeks.
Hua Cheng doesn't mind though, not if it means she gets to spend time with her jiejie.

“Jiejie,” she breathes, disbelieving, “what did you do to it?”
Hua Cheng doesn’t want to sound incredulous, she truly doesn’t, but she’s never seen anyone manage to kill an aloe plant before.

Summary
He strokes Hua Cheng’s forearm, where Xie Lian’s own name is etched onto the skin in indecipherable characters. Then, “And you were aware I was there. Can you feel what that silk does?”
There’s a slight pause behind him, and when the replies comes it carries the first traces of hesitation in it. “It’s complex, and a difficult sensation to describe.”
Xie Lian braces himself, and then lets out the next question in a single breath.
“Could you feel me wrapped up in it, today?”

When Xie Lian gets caught again by the cocoon in Mount Tonglu, he quickly realizes that being tangled in Hua Cheng’s power is the only place he wants to be.
