Summary
The back of the moving truck rattles as the worker—Fujioka? Fujita? Tsukishima doesn’t remember—closes it. He sighs, brushing the sweat off of his forehead. He peers through the setting sun, examining Tsukishima.
‘You’re sure that’s it? No other furniture or precious memories you need us to haul down for you?’
Tsukishima thinks of the inside of the house and its sparsity in items. A couch, a bed, one table, and less than twenty boxes in total waiting to be unpacked.

Tsukishima has no plans on making friends ever again, but sitting on the porch laughing at Tetsurou’s antics with Natsuki while they wait for the floor inside to dry, Tsukishima wonders if he had ever had a choice. Back home, his friends tended to find him. He could move all the way across the country, but it didn’t look like his affinity to picking up strays had faded.
Tsukishima sips at his water, watching as Natsuki pounces onto Tetsurou’s side, knocking him over once more. There’s a stone settling in his stomach that’s telling him one thing: abandoning Tetsurou like he did the rest of his friends would not be as easy.

Summary
When Dennis agreed to cover shifts for Dr. Mohan on the night shift, he didn't think he would ever end up here. Kidnapped from the ambulance bay, his head pounding, and having to save the life of a man with limited medical supplies. That was supposed to be it. Somehow, he finds himself snatched up off a sidewalk, in the stables, in front of his home. There were no sacred spaces when you proved your worth.
In the middle of it all, Dennis is confused by the way Dr. Robby and Dr. Abbot are circling him. The way they'd reach out and brush their fingers against his skin. The way they made sure he ate, got rest, and stayed safe. It made him ache with something he hadn't felt in a long time.
