Hinata keeps getting these really elaborate bouquets.
He's really gay for Kageyama, but this guy from his class is the one to confess to him.
He struggles, there's some misunderstandings (because who would I be as a writer without those), but it all works out in the end.-
They are pretty obviously confession flowers, what with the little index card tied to one of the ribbons reading: I really like your smile. The words make Hinata’s stomach do flip-flops, and his heart won’t stop fluttering. Of course, silently, and only to himself, he wishes that there was a certain teammate’s name signed, but… the printed lettering is generic type, and there is no hand writing to go off of.

Jinu abruptly thinks maybe his head isn’t back in working order like he thought it was. “Uh.” Jinu utters, eloquently. “Could you repeat that?”
“I want to kiss you,” Rumi repeats, slowly, enunciating each word so it’s unmistakable what she’s saying. “Until you forget your own name. Can I do that?”
So, apparently Jinu did hear right. But he’s not any less confused. “Why?” He blurts out before he can stop himself.
“Do you not want that?”
“No, no—” Jinu says quickly before the offer is rescinded. Because there’s not a world in which Jinu is not interested in that. He just… Doesn’t understand. “I’m a little confused how we got here, is all.”
(Or Rumi sees the slow burn romance trope and lights a molotov cocktail instead.)

Summary
Jinu can’t leave without Gwi-Ma’s permission, but sometimes he stands under the open and roiling sky and watches the barrier cascade in musical waves overhead, thousands of glimmering blue filaments that undulate with deceptive delicacy, offering, if even for a second, a glimpse of an overworld that rouses itself to song. It is not lost on Jinu that he serves a warped inverse of that purpose down here.
But demons don’t flock to his music. They shy away from it, wilting rather than blooming, because on a very literal level they understand that his voice isn’t for them. Gwi-Ma is a jealous god, and he cannot abide it if the rewards that his gifts reap don’t return to him, always, in the end.
Or: In which Jinu makes choices (a real mixed bag of them), trips into a situationship, regrets everything, lies to himself and others, and decides he wants to be a better person after all, actually—not necessarily in that order.
