“there’s no way to know,” aether started, not looking at nari. “maybe i would’ve survived anyways. maybe i would’ve been lost to time, but that’s not important because none of it happened.”
he paused for a moment before nari felt warmth over his hand, looking down to see aether had gently placed his hand over nari’s.
“and it’s all thanks to you. i’m alive because of you, nari.”

Summary
to most of the fbi agents of the country of teyvat, shikanoin heizou was at the top. he had solved so many cases in his time there with only a few injuries here and there, so many of them being so complicated not even the agents that had been around much longer than him could figure them out. even the newer agents who were just hearing of him knew how amazing he was.
talking to him yourself would lead you to seeing him as.. less than amazing, though. it wasn’t that he was a bad person, he was just.. annoying, to say the least. kujou sara, the head of his department, had gotten used to groaning every time he entered the station. he had only been there about two years and she already knew he’d be the biggest thorn in her side for however long she had to put up with him.
or: the fic where fbi agent heizou takes on the entirety of the fatui harbingers and expects to get them all jailed but gets a boyfriend instead.

it had been twenty years since everything. since scaramouche, now better known as kunikuzushi, lost his title as a harbinger, since heizou lost his job as an fbi agent. twenty years since their relationship had been exposed by that idiot fatui member. since then, the most that had changed was their whereabouts.
they were as far away from teyvat as they could manage now, hiding away in a small house that was just big enough for the two of them but far away from most civilisation.
despite that, they enjoyed the way their lives were now. it was a little more domestic than either of them had ever imagined they’d settle for, but it was incredibly nice. of course there were drawbacks and parts of their situation that were still catching up to them, but for the time being, they were free and they had each other.

an almost condescending laugh left the doctor.

the patient let out a scoff and gave a roll of his eyes before looking away from the doctor. he had much better things to occupy himself with, and this idiot doctor’s experiments on him was not one of said things.

“When you are well, Regrator,” he emphasizes, watching him drain the remainder of his tea and set the cup on his bedside table. The pads of his fingers tap gently at the veins in Pantalone’s wrist, unaffected by the abnormal surge of heat. “Which is not today.”

"Would that teach you a lesson?" Pantalone pushes again, and Dottore chuckles through the sear that ripples through him.
