Summary
Rozanov reached for him, caught his elbow, turned him back, and pressed him against the glass slider.
Then he kissed him.
An easy kiss.
One hand at Shane’s waist. The other lower. Gripping.
Shane answered it immediately.
Jesus Christ.

OR… A David Hollander POV s01e06 missing scene with David/Yuna backstory about fathers, sons, names, tables, and the plural of phones.
David Hollander only meant to retrieve a charging cable.
Instead, he finds Shane and Ilya against the glass, kissing like this is not their first time and not their first secret.
What follows is one long afternoon at the Hollander cottage: pasta, vodka, rain, old grief, repaired hinges, awkward questions, parental panic, and the slow, practical work of making room.

Summary
As a boy, Ilya learns that pain can be hidden—bruises explained away as the cost of hockey, while something deeper takes root beneath the surface.
Years later, he has everything he once fought for: a career, a husband, and a family built on love. But when old patterns begin to surface and his marriage strains under the weight of unspoken truths, Ilya is forced to confront a question he has spent his life avoiding—whether he is destined to become the very thing that broke him.
As the past collides with the life he’s built, Ilya must decide what to hold onto, what to let go, and whether the future he wants is one he can choose for himself.

Summary
Ilya hums, playing the card he's been considering for this entire conversation. “We could make more interesting, yes? A bet.”
“A bet,” Shane repeats, eyes flashing. “Like what?”
The reporter cuts in. “What about wearing the other player’s jersey?”
They both turn to her, and Shane says, “Like, the loser wears the winner’s jersey?”
“Maybe at the next game in a couple of months?”
“Is a good idea,” Ilya muses, nudging Shane’s elbow. “You will look better in my jersey than in Montreal jersey.”
Shane makes a low noise, his eyes holding a bit of a spark when he looks back to Ilya. It’s what Ilya was hoping for—the tiniest crack in the mask. He can see a hint of exasperated affection around the corners of Shane’s eyes, a little bit of fire burning just beneath the surface. It sends a thrill down Ilya’s spine, and he wonders if Shane will be snarky when Ilya gets him naked tonight.
“That’s not happening,” Shane replies, shaking his head. “Because you’re not winning.”

Summary
The best way to describe this work, I think, is as a novelization of the television series told from Ilya Rozanov's point of view. What happens in the series will happen, more or less, in this work.
Please note, I did read both Heated Rivalry and The Long Game by Rachel Reid, but that was some time ago and my recollection of them is spotty at best. Because they are novels and this is a written story, I did NOT consult the books in order to reduce the chance that I would inadvertently plagiarize them. That means that where the television series leaves a gap in the narrative, I may fill it with something very different than what happens in the books. We will all end up at the cottage, but some of us are taking a slightly different path to get there.
This novelization means that potentially triggering things that happen in the series (like mental health issues) will happen in this work. NOTE, HOWEVER, no new issues will be added in this work. No one dies. No one is outed. No one is assaulted. This is just the story of the show as if it were from Ilya's point of view.
