Summary
The effort made everything sway unpleasantly for a moment before his vision steadied, and when it did, he found himself staring at a very small person sitting on the bed.
Out of everything Xie Zheng expected, a little girl had definitely not been one of them. She was so tiny and fragile, like a cherry blossom in the wind – even at first glance, Xie Zheng guessed that standing up, she would only reach his hips in height at most.
She had been watching him – that much was crystal clear. There was a low stool positioned near the mattress, on which lay a soft fabric ball and a crudely made straw-doll. Xie Zheng could imagine her pudgy, small hands playing with them to ease her boredom, before she abandoned them to climb onto the bed, leaning forward with unabashed curiosity.
She could not have been more than five years old – all baby fat and big brown eyes.
For a long moment, neither of them spoke – both blinking at the other, one in complete confusion and the other in surprise.
Then her little face lit up with unmistakable delight.“You’re awake!”

Summary
This isn't how Elizabeth planned her vacation: stranded in the woods with a badly injured husband, below-freezing temperatures, and a killer in pursuit, her nearest ally -- Neal -- a hundred miles away at the other end of a cell phone. Written for the Girl Saves Boy Ficathon on LJ (and also to fill the "stranded/survival scenario" square on my hc_bingo card).

Summary
Set a year or so after the events of His Girl Friday.
Hildy Johnson (Burns, but not professionally) knew better than to ever trust her loving husband and editor. Walter Burns was many things – a fast-talking snake, an overbearing monster, a double-dealing blustering ham sandwich of a man, an editor's editor – but one thing he was not was honest, unless you considered his thoroughgoing devotion to The Morning Post and her. For the paper first and foremost, and for his wife and star reporter a regrettably distant second, he honestly would say any goddamn thing that he thought would get him what he wanted.
