Summary
Shauna squints. Is the girl making fun of her? Is Shauna just not understanding the teasing?
The girl ignores Shauna’s suspicious gaze and just claps her hands, as if Shauna just said the best thing ever to her. “Wowza, you’re so cool! Bon-joor!”
Five-year-old Shauna Shipman is learning a very important lesson: moving to America is incredibly difficult, especially when you only speak French.
Difficult. Not impossible. Not if Jackie Taylor has anything to say about it.

Summary
More often than not, Melissa finds herself at the whims and mercy of Gen. Where she wants to go, who she wants to meet, what parties she wants to get hammered at. Melissa doesn’t mind, mostly. She doesn’t really know how to mind, but that’s not the point. She’s the support, the defensive midfielder that knows when to stay and when to go, when to hold back and when to bolster the attack. She follows, she listens, it’s in her bones. So, it’s no surprise that Melissa has been following Shauna Shipman into empty classrooms, and listening to every command she gives her.

Summary
Shauna Shipman kills Jeff Sadecki impulsively after she finds out he's asked her to marry her. She has to deal with this newfound body in her house, her growing thirst for blood and her descent into a life of Serial Killing.
"She couldn’t understand if what she felt was just the adrenaline of seeing something so disturbing, or if she truly enjoyed this. Shauna couldn’t grasp if what she felt was fascination and curiosity for the blood that dripped or simply the rush of doing something risky—very risky. It was one thing to enjoy killing Jeff, I mean, everyone would enjoy that. But, enjoying the blood? The grotesque parts of his body that had gone shades of purple, red, and yellow from bruises contrasting the pale of his dead skin? That wasn’t normal at all. Shauna could conclude as much from how her heart beat faster looking at the bright red, how her eyes dilated—and she heated up all over at the vision of Jeff’s brains slipping out of him. She wanted to touch it. Break every last part of his body for ever daring to date Jackie. No–just breathing the same air as her while being such a disservice to humanity was reason enough."
