Summary
In the winter after the war, Ginny navigates not only her own recurring nightmares, but also the demands of Quidditch captaincy, the weirdness of double-dating with one's brother and the surprisingly difficult path back to Harry, along with Hermione's obsession with inter-house unity, Neville's retreat into his books, Luna's lonely family life and a gaping hole in Ginny's family where her middle brother used to be.
In the winter after the war, Ginny starts putting the pieces back together, with a little help from her friends.

As soon as they found Dumbledore’s body, some unconscious part of Ginny knew that their relationship would have to end. She knew Harry, who’d lost so many people, couldn’t bear to put her in danger. She understood his reasoning, in fact, if she were in the same position, she might even do the same. But, it wasn’t fair. Why couldn’t she go with them and help take down Voldemort. She after all, was the closest link to Tom after Harry, having spent a year entwined with his teenage self.

Summary
Ginny’s life after her First year was very different than a normal witch would want. Having lost her connection to her magic, her parents had no other choice but to send her to a Muggle boarding school outside of St. Ottery Catchpole. Which was fine. She finished her A-Levels with high results, which was great. Finding a job was easy enough. Working for the local newspaper kept her fed and clothed, so that, too, was grand.
So why couldn't she feel anything beyond bland apathy or despondent anger at having lived a life so… stale?
Until one day as she leaves work, she clocks a familiar face across the street.
