“Barbatos.”
Venti blinks, clearing his thoughts. Zhongli is standing mere inches in front of him, lips swollen from what’s felt like hours of attention to his skin. Venti, on the other hand, is partially disheveled, cheeks warm from the liquor, cape on the floor and corset halfway unthreaded.
“Huh? Why’d you stop?” asks Venti.
“You weren’t answering me,” repeats Zhongli as a hand tilts the younger god’s chin up so their gazes can meet. “You aren’t falling asleep, are you? Your mind elsewhere?”
in which the gods of earth and wind mess around while venti visits liyue one evening and they tread too close to the truth. or, zhongli really likes barbatos' wings and makes a point to let it be known in the hottest possible way.
