Summary
As Batman signed for him to add his backup smoke pellets to his belt after forgetting to in a recent patrol, Dick was suddenly hit with the memory of the man scolding him for it. He remembered how Bruce had walked towards him, brushing the dirt off of Dick's face and pinched his cheeks. He recalled sticking his own tongue out at the man and the low — but free, so free — chuckle Bruce let out in response. And Dick reminisced on how warm he felt in its wake.
Large age gaps between friends existed.
It made perfect sense.
Except...it didn't.
Or, how Dick transitioned from seeing Bruce as his mentor to seeing him as his dad.

Clark shrugged. “Well we think he’s around sixteen biologically. But he was grown in a tube in a matter of a couple months. And has only been out of the pod for a month or so. Why?”
“Moro reflex.” Was all Bruce said as he continued watching the boys spar.
“What?”
“Moro reflex,” He repeated. “The startle reflex newborns have when they fall or get scared. They throw their arms up on instinct to clutch to their parent. It goes away after a few months. Then when they get older and start walking their instinct changes to put their arms down to catch themselves.”
“Okay?” Clark said slowly. “Now that you explain it, yeah. I remember that when Jon was a baby.”
“Superboy still has his Moro reflex.”

With mutant hate at an all time high, betrayal and heartbreak closing in and sinister secret unraveling around them Logan has to face his fears and own up to his failures as a father. If Magneto can bond with his kids, surely it can’t be that hard… can it?
Will a road trip to Alaska make or break the fragile bond between the Wolverine and his children or will a dud mission be the saving grace Logan never knew he needed.

Summary
The Wolverine was a legend spanning over 200 years. 200 years, and all Logan had to show for it was some jagged memory fragments that cut him every time he handled them and a trail of blood he could barely stomach the smell of. After years of torturous flashbacks, Logan begs to have full access to the amnesiac vault of his mind. But even ownership of his own psyche is kept on a short leash.

Summary
Family is built out of trust and love and, in the Wolverines' case, attempting to kill each other at some point or another. Maybe things can be easier for the little ones, if they do it right. And maybe things aren't as bleak as they seem, if they just remember the strength of the ties that bind them together with the ones they love.

But what if they could? Have unsquished fences and sandwiches, I mean. It'd be hard work. It would take a long time to get to the place they wanted to. But they could do it. Logan can figure out how to be a normal dad. He has to believe that he can.
