Ilya Rozanov and Shane Hollander have been preparing for the Hunger Games their entire lives as citizens of Districts One and Two. In their final year of eligibility, both of their names are called at the annual Reaping ceremony. During training week, Shane realizes he wants nothing more than to bury his knife in Ilya’s throat, and Ilya can’t seem to resist trying to provoke him into doing it.
The problem is, that eventually, killing each other stops being the only thing they want—and the Capitol is determined to make a spectacle out of every second of it.

“Hi, sweetheart,” Ilya mumbles into Shane’s neck.
Shane just keeps running his fingers through Ilya’s hair, sometimes scratching a little. He rubs his knuckle behind Ilya’s ear, and waits.
Ilya is good at being in control. He’s glorious on top of Shane. He fucks him so good Shane forgets his name. He effortlessly guides Shane through crowds with a big palm pressed against the small of his back. He calls Shane all sorts of filthy names and tells him when he can come. But sometimes, Ilya wants to feel a big palm at his own back, guiding him and holding him and loving him well enough that he can let go.
