That luck still persists, but good god if MacCready can say that things are always certain and not pants-shittingly terrifying. There’s always The Big One; Shaun, the Institute, the Brotherhood occupation and the future of the Minutemen and of the Commonwealth as a whole. Then the mundane; she’s too damn pretty for a guy like him, he can’t give her the life her and her late husband had built together, she doesn’t understand why he hates the idea of a robot acting like a human being and sometimes, just sometimes, she has a request in bed that makes his sensibilities baulk.
This, currently, is one of them.

When MacCready first met Deacon, he didn’t like him. He imagines most people don’t.
The stark, black wig. The sunglasses at night. The broad grin, the pearly white teeth. The tiny, imperceptible incision scars around his nose and ears. Everything about him screamed liar. Deacon was less of a man and more of an image of one; a photorealistic painting, one that you reach out towards expecting to grab something real, something tangible, and your fingers only brush flat canvas.| A relationship that develops over snapshots, and a portrait of a man. (Or, Deacon and MacCready hate each other until they don’t. Then until they really don’t. And until they really, really, really don’t.)

But now Livio’s away at some sheriff’s school, and, well, Wolfwood’s still here. A farm with no name and a town with even less of a name. . .
“Hello?” A soft voice calls from the other side. “Anyone home? I don’t mean to be an inconvenience at all. Just… need a place to stay through the storm.”

Vash's body has some hangups after finally getting Wolfwood back from the grave. Luckily, Wolfwood has a plan. Except for the fact the plan involved Vash, so it was doomed to spiral. Not that either of them are complaining.
