Summary
It's not as if John has grown particularly independent with his new body, either. He and Arthur cling to each other, together as often as they can be. When they're at home, Arthur will sit on the couch with one of his many poetry books, and John will curl up in his lap like an overgrown cat as Arthur reads them aloud. He'll pet John's hair, or John will grab his free hand and play with it, tracing over the delicate veins on the back of it and memorizing the whorls of his fingertips.

He was still holding the candle. Slowly Arthur tipped it over, wax dripping down on John's hand.
Arthur, John said and his voice sounded strangled, almost breathless, making another shudder run down Arthur's spine.
"Oops," Arthur said and nobody would buy him actually meaning it, least of all John. "How clumsy of me. You should move your hand if you don't want this to happen again."
He could feel John's hand flexing on his knee. Opening and closing again. But not moving. Not pulling away.

Summary
Arthur kept going, moving his hand back down again and John let the arm fall down on his thigh, suddenly not feeling like he had the strength to keep holding it up anymore.
It proved an excellent idea. It proved an extreme mistake. Because Arthur’s hand suddenly moved on from his arm towards his thigh and the goosebumps seemed to now be covering John’s entire body.
John and Arthur swap control of the body and John gets to experience something new.

"It's done, Arthur. I moved it. By the end of the bed, like you asked. Are you ready now?" John asks, with a twinge of frustration in his voice.
"It" happened to be the mirror John spotted at the market. It was bought per Arthur's request after hearing John describe it— full length, with an ornate golden frame— and when asked what Arthur wanted it for, he shrugged and explained that he was sure that they'd find a use for it eventually.
Unbeknownst to John, Arthur already had plenty of ideas in mind since the moment it was described to him.
