Shane stares at the half-empty bottle of vodka on the coffee table. “You suck.”
“I suck? I scored hat-trick! In your stupid body! I have not eaten in six hours, Hollander. I have not pissed. I have not laid down. I want to go home.”

Summary
Ilya has had plenty of sex. That's no secret to anyone. He had long since confessed to Shane that sex with him was always special and different, and that he's never felt like that with anyone else, but the self doubt that lives in Shane's mind had told him that you can never be too sure.

Summary
One night, half-asleep, Shane says to Ilya, “You make everything easier to exist in.”
The words slip out gently, unguarded, like something he’s carried a long time and finally lets fall.
It steals the breath out of Ilya. He goes liquid against Shane and turns his head just enough to brush kisses along the line of his jaw.
Shane drifts under like that, held there by the knowledge that love can be quiet and spacious, that it can move through him in a way that is kind to his nervous system.

Summary
The boys weekend at the cottage is supposed to mend whatever's left of Shane, Hayden, and JJ's friendship after Shane's move to Ottawa. After constant jabs towards his relationship and the love of his life lead Shane to a panic attack, Hayden is left to deal with the fact that Ilya is a better husband than he thought. And maybe, a better friend than he is.

Shane gasped and stumbled backwards. “Three weeks? You decided-” his hands flew to his mouth. “How could you do this without talking to me? This is what? To punish me because I won’t come out on your timeline?”
Ilya felt a stab of anger. “You won’t come out on any timeline!”
Shane blinked at him. “I literally drove here tonight because I wanted to know if you would accept six to twelve months!”
“A timeline,” he barked. “This is our lives, Shane. I want to be with you fully now. I know you are scared, but you need to be brave, and I am so deeply fucking unhappy being your dirty little secret.”
“That’s not fair Ilya, it’s going to be complicated for me. I’m already the only Asian captain in the league! The media, sponsors, the Voyageurs? It’s going to need to be carefully managed-”
Or: After the Boxing Day fight, Ilya loses faith in the idea that Shane will come out quickly and decides to make a wild move and agrees on a trade to Vancouver. Can these two idiots in love find their way back to each other?
