For a few seconds none of them moves, Steves eyes widen almost comically and that is when Eddies brain catches up with the rest of him. A “fuck” escapes him that is more breathing out than actually speaking, then he spins around and flees back into the house.

When Eddie properly sees Steve shirtless for the first time, his brain short circuits and he confesses his feelings.

After reuniting in Eddie’s trailer, the gang managed to get themselves over to Steve’s house to crash for the night. Eddie was just looking for some clean clothes, but somehow he had been roped into holding Steve down while Robin cleaned his bat bites. It was fine. He was fine with it. No, he wasn’t distracted by Steve’s practically see-through underwear. He was being so normal about this.

Eddie’s chest heaves as he kicks away the blankets in a writhing outburst, eyes snapping open to darkness. He can’t catch his breath, can’t get a clear grasp on anything but the frantic energy bubbling beneath his skin.
Something wants to get out.
