Summary
The comfort of being on death’s door is much too familiar to Leon.
His whole life had always been one wrong step away from the fiery gates of hell, and he had always been prepared for it, no matter the situation. With his will written since he was only twenty-two, and his belongings labeled by who out of his very small pool of loved ones will be given them after he dies, he could at least know that he could die without loose ends. It’s not really a matter of if to him, but when. With the way he lives, he knows he’s going out sooner rather than later.
Although, as the familiar tell of black webbing crawls up his neck and down his cheeks, he can say with confidence that this is the first time in a very long time that he’s really regretting it.

Summary
It was said so quietly that Sean almost didn’t catch it, but Dad’s whisper was heard over the gunshots in the sky, over Daniel’s gleeful shouts, over the sizzle of the sparklers. The remnants of fireworks, streaking reds, whites, and blues, were so wonderfully vibrant in his father’s eyes as he watched over the two of them, still smiling and alive.
“These are for you, my sons. My everything.”

Summary
It started when she was little, with her dream of being the knight in shining armor to rescue the princess gradually morphing into pure panic from the accidental brush of her lab partner’s soft hands against hers. The idea grew closer to reality throughout middle school until finally, it ended at Mom’s seething comments at the colorful flags that flew proudly last June.
So, Lyla didn’t think of kisses. Or dating. Or anything revolving romance that involved herself. It was easier that way.
And yet here she is now, kissing Sean on the third day of sophomore year on a whim.

Summary
The moment he saw her, that aura that he’d felt from most living beings shone through instantly. It was so bright that it was hard to take in at first. She was entrancing, radiant as he watched her with an overwhelming amount of disbelief that he’d pulled his knife out and all she did was start painting with not a care in the world, like she could see right through him and understood.
It was the most… seen he’d ever felt before. Someone who cut all corners and dove straight for the middle, knowing how to get to him exactly. Where had she been his entire life?
or: a study on atreus's feelings for angrboda, and how she differs from the other people in his life.

Summary
A throbbing headache cursed him out of his thoughts, and the two heads of dark brown hair he’d seen so many times were not there. In their place, two bright heads of auburn replaced them, with their once striking blue eyes lifeless as they stared back at him. Beautiful scars littered their blank faces, with matching freckles and eyebrows that used to hold so many expressions.
They were always far too alike.

Summary
Orange and black tapestries adorned the tiny market stall, with the familiar etchings of Greek craftsmanship decorating vases and pottery that lined the back shelves. The inviting scents of honey cakes and fine wine filled his heart with a terrible ache of longing that forced him to look away. Greece was a land that he’d left far behind him, and he wasn’t ready to visit that grief now.
or: kratos, through the stubbornness of his son, revisits what greece has to offer.
