There was no real significance to Tsukasa finally admitting his feelings for Rui after eight years, nor is he entirely sure how to convey eight years worth of feelings into a neatly packaged confession. In an accidental twist of fate, Rui finds out anyway. Tsukasa never intended to confess to Rui at all—after discovering an eight year long bet at his expense, he wishes he never had.

Worst of all, there was a small part of him that knew that those words were false.
Even worse than that, now that guy that he would “never consider” thinks Tsukasa hates him.
Or: After a dumb conversation between the two boys about romance, they both realize some things about one another. They think that the other hates them. But maybe, just maybe, things could work out in more ways than one.
