Summary
Derek didn't believe in soulmates. Never had, never would. Even upon visions of yellow that were washed out into greens and flowers and shades of his eyes, Derek did not believe in soulmates. Derek saw every version there was. He didn't retain all of them but he saw them and he knew them inside and out. Derek knew him—knew Avery—like a baby's first breath followed by its scream, like the way humans feared the unknown and the known, like nature knew rot and life. Derek knew Avery instinctively and wholly.
