The suck-hiss of Vader’s breaths once soothed Luke through his agony, the only constant besides pain that slow, pervasive sound. It horrifies him now. Slow exhales brush his nape, channelled through the vented muzzle of the mask; they cool Luke’s gathering sweat as the chest he’s held against swells and shrinks beneath layered steel.
Fear is the path to the Dark Side, but it is all Luke has now.

Summary
Harry considered scars awfully beautiful things. The way the body self-mended was in itself miraculous. That it did so by emphasising what was new and what was old, told stories of experience with unique shapes, marks, and lentigines, was fascinating. His knowledge of this scar, and how it came to be something Alexander carried with him, was almost intimate.
