The pieces slowly click together in Anaxa's head—he's seen the man's name written in elegant cursive on concert posters, even watched a brief snippet of an interview with him (which, admittedly, Anaxa couldn't sit through even a minute of). Castorice also occasionally talked about him, fearfully citing the conductor's low tolerance for mistakes during rehearsals. Everything had painted Sunday Oak, Paperfold University's orchestra director, as an insufferably smug and imposing figure with a mile-long perfectionist streak.
