Summary
A thoroughly expanded version of Akiha's route in the ethos of the Remake. Characters from the Remake are not included, but this work seeks to put greater emphasis on fleshing out the characters' psychologies and interpersonal relationships while loosely following the plot of the original route. Slightly AU, the main cast has been aged up by 2 years and to explore different perspectives on these classic characters. The story begins after Shiki wakes up from a strange dream the morning of his move to the Tohno mansion. As he seeks to rekindle his relationship with Akiha and settle in at his old home, he finds that the high-class and dignified facade of the Tohno estate is concealing layers upon layers of secrets and trauma, many of which are his own. Caught between rebuilding his broken relationships and fighting both inner and outer demons, Shiki must learn to understand and embrace his unraveling identity, lest he be consumed by it.

The red moonlight, filtering through the shattered stained-glass window, fell upon his body like a perverse blessing: his blond hair with reddish highlights accentuated the beauty of that defiant face, his eyes, showing confusion, gazing at the red sky beneath the dome, almost mesmerized, his lips parted so that he could hear his stifled breath, and the light bathed his skin in scarlet reflections, outlining his silhouette against the blood-stained marble. An almost innocent vision, like that of an angel fallen into hell itself.
Wesker observed him with a different gleam in his eyes—not just curiosity, but something akin to fascination.
"Look at that…" he whispered with delight. His footsteps echoed softly, confidently, as he descended from the balcony and walked through the smoke toward the altar. Every meter that separated them seemed to shrink, each of Leon's breaths merging with the distant roar of the flames. "What an irony, isn't it? You throw yourself into the lion's den, and the entire universe conspires to crown you as an offering. Right beneath the red moon...Right where the bride was meant to be."
The last sentence was a deliciously cruel whisper.
