Summary
Later, Roy will swear that it started out completely innocently. A bit of harmless fun, though it could be very well argued that he has a slightly skewed understanding of fun. Or harmless, for that matter. The intention is—well, not good-natured, quite the opposite really, but he doesn’t mean for anything in particular to happen. Except having Edward scream at him a little, perhaps, which shouldn’t be something he takes as much pleasure in as he does, he’s aware, though it’s difficult not to when Edward’s rants always make for such great entertainment.
Then again, aggravating his subordinates for his own amusement in the first place is not something he should have any plausible reason for doing—except for the fact that he is a terrible man with a godawful sense of humour and not a shred of healthy sensibility, but that is neither here nor there.
or: Roy merely wants to be little bit of an asshole and accidentally uncovers Edward’s praise kink.

Summary
On a trip to Creta, Brigadier General Mustang runs into a spot of trouble. Luckily, he's accompanied by Major Elric, ready to serve and protect his commanding officer. Unluckily, things go pretty much to shit anyway. The two of them have to find their way to safety on their own, in a foreign country, battling an enemy with home field advantage - while they're in the wrong bodies. Somehow, things only get worse from there.

Summary
Edward has the unfortunate news about his wife reach him in Aerugo. By the time he arrives home in Resembool, his heart is in knots and his life has become a mess. Alphonse is miles away. There are only a few people that Edward trusts in Amestris, and most of them live in Central.
In the city, Roy Mustang is an anchor of normality for Edward, and he eventually finds himself drawn towards the man as a source of comfort more than anything else.
