Throughout the years, Dean had dabbled in his fair share of overindulgences—women, food, alcohol. Violence, even. When he needed something to do with his hands, he’d always known he could simply find any and all of these things at whatever local bar was nearby his and Sam's motel room.
And besides, the weight of a beer bottle against his palm doesn't really feel all that different from that of a gun’s grip, especially when the first time both of them had been placed into his hands had been by his father.
And he figures that the food thing came from his mother, maybe. Some of his earliest memories had been sitting at the counter in the kitchen while she cooked, thinking to himself that he'd eat whatever she put in front of him as long as they could be there, together, forever.
Or maybe he was always going to end up like this, and it wasn't his parents’ fault at all that he was fucked up.
No point in wondering. He'd never know.

Other people show up too and chaos begins as Gerard starts to receive disturbing, anonymous threats.Accidentally stumbling upon an active fire lookout tower he meets Frank and falls for him almost instantly. For Gerard the age gap makes it all more exciting, while Frank struggles with that, or so it seems.

Unfortunately, he messes up the recipe, and everyone falls in love with him, except for his coworker."If Illi McMillian was one thing, she was a physical media lover; CDs, records, DVDs, comic books, paperbacks (never hardcovers, she dropped books on her face far too often for that) and most importantly—magazines. People that Illi loved and also talked to often (read, Mikey McMillian) had heard multiple, long-winded rants about the importance of print media.
if there was another objective fact about Illi McMillian, it was that she was head over heels for a short punk kid that worked in her office and she really, really wanted him to notice her.

Summary
Gerard's a loser - and he's well aware of that fact. His basement apartment is a mess; he has no friends and due to his work-from-home job he rarely ever leaves the house. That's why he invested in a Better Living Droid - on that will clean his house, make him home cooked meals and satisfy his sexual urges. It seems like the perfect solution to all his issues, but the droid he gets is not the droid that he'd ordered. Instead, he's saddled with Frank - a naive android who needs Gerard's help with nearly everything. Gerard's disappointment is weighed against his empathy; he doesn't have the time to train and take care of an android - he can hardly take care of himself - but can he really get rid of Frank? When he learns that if he gives up the android, Frank will be scrapped for parts, he realizes that he can't just give up on him so easily.
