I'm actually gonna try to match the songs to the content of the chapter this time because last time they were just picked randomly by whatever song I was listening to when I wrote it. If there is no lyrics at the beginning of the chapter it's for one of these reasons: 1. the song has no lyrics 2. all of the lyrics fit the chapter, it'd be restricting to bind the chapter to specific lyrics. 3. none of the lyrics fit completely and it'd be awkward to add lyrics that didn't fit fully. most of the time, if it's for 3, the general mood of the song fits the chapter. if there IS lyrics at the beginning of the chapter, it's because that part of the song fits perfectly to the chapter. enjoy the story, super slays.
here we go.

Summary
Nobody normal hurts like this.
or a rendition of the 3rd Harry Potter book in which no-nose no-shoes no service comes back early and forces Harry out of the country and then Harry has to juggle new friendships, his fresh out of prison uncle who for some reason keeps mistaking him for everyone but himself, and several new parental figures, all while struggling to cover up the strange happenings as anything but the beginning of a war.
i wrote this while watching the strange shadows outside my house move at 9:51 PM
any British slang i get wrong should be corrected, i don't speak British. also i don't really have an excuse for any inaccuracies because I've read the books 13 times but most of this is just headcanons, especially anything to do with Remus' furry little problem. -

Summary
(Formerly known as Into the Deku-Verse)
Shota sneers at the teenager across from him. His defense raises like the hairs on the back of his neck as he glares steadily, ready and waiting for whatever will come from this encounter. He narrows his gaze when the teen shifts; just the thought of sharing this rooftop with Japan's most notorious villain makes his skin prickle. “Deku.”
“Y-yes!” the teenager cries out in relief, taking a small step towards Shota, “I’m Deku! I’m so g-glad you—”
“Deku,” Shota growls darkly, flicking out his capture weapon hastily to snag the villain before he can make his move. He's quick to tug it taut, leaving no room for Deku to escape. “You’re under arrest.”
“I-I’m what?! W-wait!”
tl;dr
Hero Course student Izuku comes to the realization that he is definitely not where he's supposed to be.

Summary
After a grueling battle in the U.A. Sports Festival, Aizawa Sensei begins training Hitoshi after school.
Hitoshi knows he doesn’t deserve it, but he accepts anyway.
Aizawa Sensei notices the cracks in Hitoshi’s carefully maintained facade, bruises hidden beneath his sleeves, a perpetually empty stomach, exhaustion too deep to blame on schoolwork.
He helps Hitoshi get removed and put into a new home. Now he’s in U.A’s hero course, not being beaten for the first time in his life, and he even starts to believe the lie that Aizawa might care about him.But his new foster father is… off. He lingers too long. Presses too close. Watches too intently.
As the lines blur and danger creeps in again, Hitoshi must decide whether to speak up and risk everything, or stay silent, and survive.

such a well written 'something is wrong with this guy and i know it, but it's just barely there and nothing tangible or bad has happened, so i might be reading into it, and therefore can't tell anyone, because even i don't know why i don't like them', and pretty well written i would say. bit of a gut punch, and if you have sensitive stomach, tread carefully.
a very happy bonus note: the stupid jackass pedophile gets the shit kicked out of him. very, very, very good fic.seriously, this fic is one of those that sticks with you for at least a few days after you read it. shit hits hard.

read this during the post-christmas-pre-new-years limbo during a RUFF TIME 11pm while listening to Amber Waves by Ethel Cain; a quintuple whammy of enough depressing energy to put someone on suicide watch. this fic is achingly saddening enough on its own, i would not recommend following in my footsteps. it was like a cocktail of numbing bleakness. a 'battery acid spaghetti! don't do this.' of demoralization. just so depressing.

Summary
“You work as a surgeon for an illegal underground clinic?”
“It just so happens that this clinic here is only MOSTLY illegal. There’s big difference between mostly illegal and all illegal. Mostly illegal is slightly legal.”
“Problem child…”
Izuku secretly spends his nights working for an underground hospital which serves quirkless patients, people without insurance, and those who would prefer to avoid the eyes of the law. However, after years of hard-work keeping his nighttime activities a secret, his hero work and night life start to collide.
Or: what happens when I watch BNHA when I’m in the mood for a medical drama.

Summary
After the majority of his students are docked points from the inability to interact with those they're rescuing properly in the Provisional Hero Liscensing exam, Aizawa Shōta sets up a volunteer program for his 1-A students as a means for them to get out into the world and learn how to socialize with those different from them.
He honestly didn't think anything was wrong until there's a knock on his apartment door in the middle of the night. What could Midoriya Izuku want at this hour?
