Summary
Godric meets the sun on that roof in Dallas and Sookie Stackhouse does something spectacularly stupid:
She stays.
She holds Eric Northman while his world ends, kisses him through dried blood and grief, and doesn’t run when he breaks apart in her arms. What she thinks is a dream on the flight home isn’t a dream at all; it’s the night she chooses him with her body long before she’s ready to admit it out loud.
Back in Bon Temps, nothing is neat. Bill is still lying, the Queen is still scheming, and Maryann is still turning Sookie’s house into a sacrificial frat party. But the axis has shifted. Eric refuses to bite her and still claims her, word and vow and flesh. Their bond grows teeth without blood, then teeth with blood, tangling with her fae spark until “mine” starts to feel less like a game and more like a metaphysical problem.
Expect grief and comfort sex, bite politics, dream-sharing, messy breakups, ritual claims, Maryann getting what’s coming to her, Sookie becoming “Eric’s person” in every sense, and a hard-won, domestic HEA where the house is theirs, the monsters are theirs, and “always” is a choice they keep making.

Eric gets his memories back, pours his heart out on Sookie’s couch, and for one hot, awful second everything is clear: she loves him, not Bill. Then a fae portal opens in her yard and yeets her out of Bon Temps before she can even get to the Moon Goddess Emporium.
Sookie wakes up in faerie at Niall’s feet and gets turned from “telepathic waitress with light tricks” into something sharper and much more dangerous. When Sookie and Niall finally burn their way back into the human world at the start of season 6, Bon Temps is a graveyard with a bar, Bill is a god-flavored horror show, and Eric has survived by throwing himself into every war and every bed that wasn’t hers. She’s stronger and harder; he’s colder and more desperate; and Warlow is closing in on the bloodline that refuses to belong to him.
The world is still dangerous and bloody. The future is still a mess. But whatever comes after Warlow, this time Sookie and Eric walk into it hand in hand, by choice, not fate.

Initiation is the 1st of 3 fan fiction novels based on the Southern Vampire Mysteries novels with occasional nods to the TV series.
Initiation asks, if Eric pursued Sookie when he first met her, who would she and Eric become? How would they handle events that occur in the first 4 books of SVM if they were already together? This is an Eric and Sookie pairing story with a happy ending, in which Sookie finds joy, strength and beauty in her surrender to Eric as they become a power couple that will rock the vampire world. Sookie joins Eric and his family and eventually joins him as his mate in every way, as they forge their path together. The story is self-contained, it starts where the books started with Sookie as she was in the beginning of the original canon as she grows from the girl in the first chapter of the original SVM novel to a woman shaped by new experiences and a very different relationship. Major plot changes ONLY start to occur from the original at the end of Chapter 4. Consentual power exchange with Eric as the Dominant.

In this AU retelling of the Persephone and Hades story, Eric is the one who rescues Sookie from the Rattrays. Later, when she goes to Fangtasia with Bill, she learns that this favor does not come without costs. For the next 6 months, Sookie will be blood-bound to the Viking vampire, and in those six months, Eric intends to get full use of his new little telepath. In a business manner of course… no other reasons.
Sookie is less than thrilled about the arrangement but hopeful that their new partnership can help her work towards acquitting her brother of the slew of crimes shaking the town of Bon Temps.
