Summary
Regulus watches the car approach from the balcony, the music blaring. As if the whole ordeal wasn't over the top enough, he starts honking along to the beat, before he sticks his head out the open driver window and whoops loudly. Regulus rolls his eyes but there's a small fond smile pulling at the corner of his lips as he steps back into his room and makes his way down the stairs to greet the newcomers. One could say he skipped down the steps, although he would vehemently deny this observation.
It's not that Regulus isn't happy Sirius seems to have made such good friends while he was away. Of course he's happy for his brother. But he won't lie and say he's excited necessarily about having three strangers in his house. Strangers who all know each other, who already have comfortable dynamics he's somehow meant to fit into. It's… daunting.

Summary
Remus Lupin moved to New Orleans at the ripe age of twenty looking for a new life in comparison to the quiet, small town in Georgia that he grew up in.
Of course, he meets Sirius Black and his best friend James Potter along the way.
But it wasn't until several years later that Remus finally meets Sirius' younger brother, Regulus Black, for the very first time and he's immediately smitten.
The problem?
Regulus has a mean streak and he doesn't make it easy for Remus even if Remus is his older brother's best friend.
Or
Where Remus is trying to get Regulus' attention and Regulus is playing hard to get in the form of cutting words and sharp retorts because why should getting a date with him be easy?
And if Sirius is in the background trying to help, that's not for anyone to comment on.

Sirius Black eventually meets Remus anyway. But Regulus Black saw him first.
This story explores how it might have changed Regulus’ fate if the two of them had found each other and he hadn’t been alone.
