This fic was painful and heartbreaking I genuinely had to go out to touch grass but Goddd does it hurt so good, so realistic, so well written. I've been reading fics since 2008 and this is the first time I cried for a break-up scene. I loved (needed) the hopeful happy ending at the end.

The slowburn was slowburning. Yosuke characterisation felt so real, so complex like the messy teenager he is. Happy to witness his changes and growth throughout the story like I'm witnessing my stupid son growing up.

"My name is Tohru Adachi. I'm 33 years old. My flat is in the northeast section of Yongen-Jaya, where everything's all run down, and I am not married. I used to work as a detective for the Inaba Police Department, but I got half-convicted as a serial killer and am now on probation. I don't smoke, but I occasionally drink. I'm up all night watching TV at least until midnight, and I never get a decent night's sleep, ever. After having a glass of lukewarm tap water and being forced to listen to my next-door neighbours fuck, I usually lie awake all night thinking of how much the world is shit.
I wake up hating my life. I don't have time to see a doctor but I'm sure if I did he'd tell me I have all sorts of health issues. I'm trying to explain that I'm a person who wishes to live a very exciting life. I don't care how I interact with others, so I'm constantly losing, perpetuating the cycle. That is how I deal with society, and I know that is what brings me happiness. Although, if I were to fight I wouldn't lose to anyone."
