A few months ago, Shane would’ve called him an asshole and left him in this dingy hospital room alone. A few months ago, Shane would’ve rolled his eyes and thrown back a line about wanting to ensure all his patients were looked after and how he had a responsibility, especially to members of his own firehouse. Hell, a few months ago, maybe Shane wouldn’t have even been here in the first place.
But today, after the scare he’s had and the hours he’s spent really coming to terms with… well, everything, Shane just nods tiredly.
“I was. I was terrified actually. I haven’t left this hospital since I rolled in doing chest compressions on you because we couldn’t get your sinus rhythm back and your heart stopped.”

Holy moly. Another time travel/parallel universe one with Ilya dying in the TLG plane crash, but the one with the ‘witch’ and the crazy premonitions and WOW. Gorgeous storytelling. Ch3 ended on a cliffhanger that’s gonna haunt me. Even with a happy ending tag, I feel like this will leave me devastated, and I’m here for it!!

Right now, to me, THE hollanov fic. Impeccable Shane & Ilya voices, pristine hurt/comfort, the best pacing, and absolutely worth the sleep I lost over it after reading it at an unholy time of the night.
The one where Ilya gets a really shitty hockey injury, Shane plays Best Fiance Caretaker, and Ilya still starts to spiral. Promised railing has not yet happened but it will be GOLDEN, I can feeeeel it. (bookmarking on ch. 2)
UPDATE: ch3 hurt me personally. Still beautiful and amazing.
