Being able to buy his own clothes and groceries, take out his own loans for school, and pay his own rent without feeling the pressure to conform to Deirta Thelyss’ ideal of the “prodigal son” was something he found so liberating. He could finally be himself without repercussions…
At least, until his landlord told him that upon signing his upcoming lease, he’d also be raising the rent.
