Carson! In Pegasus B!
The storyline at this point is that the Wraith did not eat Jack when they first encountered him, and Carson wants to know why.Keep in mind this Jack in Pegasus B is starting out in a pretty dark place, with mentions of considering self-ciding, and that's before we get to Pegasus Ba'al.
I don't have a good handle on what the order of things was but this has to have come before Knives, which makes reference to it.

Pegasus B was an AU written by many writers in which Daniel Jackson never joined the Stargate program (but has a long history with Rodney McKay), Jack O'Neill spent much more time in Ba'al's clutches before getting back to Earth to discover that his son Charlie had killed himself, and both are part of the Atlantis mission. This story is an offshoot of that AU, in which the Atlantis team arrives in the Pegasus Galaxy to find someone else has gotten there first...

If he craned his neck he could see O’Neill at the front near the ramp, the Major too. As Weir finished―apparently no-one taking her up on her offer of a no-hard-feelings bail-out―and wove her way through the crowd to head up to the control room, Sheppard twisted around and scanned the crowd, catching Daniel’s eye. Sheppard’s eyebrows came up in an expression that asked “Are we out of our fucking minds?” When Daniel nodded in confirmation, Sheppard’s mouth quirked up and then the gate opened behind him and Daniel wasn’t noticing Sheppard so much anymore.
