There's not many good things that have come from Stiles' very, very late unexpected presentation as an omega. The few he does have like the alpha/omega online support group and most importantly the awakening of the spark he never knew he possessed are what's kept him sane as he's faced depression and isolation. Stiles loses his temper with the rest of the pack when they all make excuses not to volunteer to help their Alpha. Deaton has instructed that for the next 24 hours Derek can't use his hands after he seriously injures them in a magical entrapment. Seeing the emotional hurt that Derek's selfish pack has inflicted on him when they argue and try to get out of it, Stiles volunteers to stay and then proceeds to give the rest of them a verbal ass-kicking. He then takes care of his friend, the Alpha, Derek Hale, while trying to work out what his feelings are towards the werewolf.

When you've lost all of your family it's inevitable that there are many days out of the year that remind Derek all too painfully of exactly what he's lost.. birthdays, anniversaries, holidays. Today is just another pain-filled reminder, Laura's birthday and walking to escape the memories somehow leads him to standing below the bedroom window of a 17 year old teenage boy.. he's not known Stiles for that long, but the light from his window is a beacon and he just wants to stop hurting, even if it's only for one night. That it's raining and the deluge has left him cold and shaking just seems to be one more example of how crap is his life and how little he is cared for.. or so he thinks.

He and the kid that's in a holding cell are the only ones in the building and it's starting to make Derek sweat. The aftermath of the nogitsune's possession of Stiles has ended up in a very strange and almost unlikely relationship forming between Stiles and Derek Hale. After saving Stiles and regaining his alpha-hood while doing it, Stiles has come to only feel safe when around the werewolf. Sometimes when the memories and the panic attacks are too much they both need more than simple companionship or hugs. Stiles sometimes needs to let go of his control and Derek sometimes needs to take it into his keeping.
