“Ground rules,” Steve says as he pushes the door open and turns to face him, walking backwards into his hallway. The dealer is prowling him, stalking towards him, biting his bottom lip.
“One, do not fucking kiss me,” Steve says, clicking on a lamp. The guy nods, taking off his jacket, throwing it on the floor as he stares at his mouth while he talks. “Two, this is a one time thing.”
The guy laughs, grabs onto Steve’s wrists, “that’s not going to be a problem.” “Because once you have me, you’ll want me again,” Steve oozes confidence, all babygirl and bratty. It’s so easy for him to be like this.
He scoffs, “oh please. Who do you think you are? Really?”
He tightens his grip on his wrists and pushes him against the wall. Fuck, okay, it’s going to happen right here.
Or
Steve sleeps around with low expectations and zero intentions for it ever meaning more. Until he meets a guy who makes him want to break all his own rules.

Steve swallows hard, because, well, he is a wolf. Once Eddie finds out about what he is, maybe he won’t want to be friends. Maybe he’ll see Steve differently. Maybe Eddie will make good on his ‘avoid wolves’ policy and they’ll go back to awkwardly nodding in the hall at one another.
Already, Steve knows what he’s going to do before he says the words. He’s well aware it’s the worst idea he’s ever had, especially because they just met, but Steve’s wolf went ‘That’s the one’ and all he wants, needs, is a chance and if lying gets him one then—
“You got me,” he smiles weakly, “Total human dork.”

No one really knows the truth of Steve’s parenthood due to the fact they moved a bit out of town.
4 years pass and Steve is in his second year of college, the kids starting high school gives him more time to focus on school. In his second year, he runs into an old high school classmate. None other than Eddie Munson. He thought Eddie was one of the coolest people in their year but back then he would never admit that. Eddie thinks Steve is still an ass from high school so he’s not exactly thrilled to sit next to him for class.
“Well if it isn’t King Steve. Didn’t think I’d ever see you again.”
“Just Steve is fine and it’s not that surprising.” Steve winced at his tone, he could feel the irritation off of him.
“Whatever man.” Eddie sat next to him quietly putting his head down, not bothering to strike up a conversation and Steve just focused on the professor.
