There's a stabbing pain in her wrists. She's felt it a million times before, and will a million times later, but this time feels different. This time feels wrong. It's deeper than before. She doesn't know how she knows that.
Astrid flicks on the light and watches as a golden scar slices its neat way across the inside of her left wrist.
Then another, along her right.
Then nothing.
Astrid's been worried for her soulmate since she knew what the golden scars on her arms meant.
Unfortunately, worry wasn't enough to stop him.Series

Summary
"C’mon, kids!” Della called down. “You don’t want to miss this!”
Huey moved to do as he was told but Louie paused him with a tug on his sleeve. He pleaded with his barely older brother: “Is it just me or does this feel more stupidly dangerous than our usual adventures?”
-
An adventure goes wrong, causing Huey to make a devastating choice to save Louie while Della learns more about each of her boys. More than she was ready to stomach. (This is vaguely a continuation of my last fic but you don't need to read that for this. Small warning though: This gets pretty heavy, dealing with the effects of child abandonment and poverty, so… Enjoy?)Series

Summary
Huey was good at this. He could be very gentle and comforting. The others needed a rock, right now, and that had to be him because there was no one else. He wasn't sure he could do this.
Dewey, Louie, and Webby would always be there to support him, but they were looking to him, now, like he a) knew what the hell to do next and b) was anything except what he actually was, which was a scared little boy with a sick mother who wanted to be by himself somewhere soft and dark to process everything that should not have been happening but was anyway.
But Uncle Scrooge trusted him. It was a trust he'd earned. Mom and Donald trusted him to take the lead, too, and he didn't want to let them down.Bookmarked by cuttlefishCuller76
