Summary
The Montreal metros are not homophobic -or at least not intentionally-, they’re simply a team that is held together by ‘normal’ habits, bad coping mechanisms, and an even worse hope of making the playoffs someday. The problem is that their extremely private rookie -and hockey prodigy- Shane Hollander thinks otherwise, they know so after two many incidents with him. But even so they make a decision collectively: if Shane Hollander is going to drag the team to the playoffs, they are going to become the team he feels safe in, they aren’t going to lose him to another team.
The consequence is as following: the metros slowly change their locker room culture into a safer and more honest one; and throughout the next several years they: learn to trust each other, the league realizes queer players have always existed (shocking, I know), and the fact the hockey god #1 and hockey god #2 are falling catastrophically in love with each other.(Or the story of how the Montreal Metros develop emotional intelligence against their will and subsequently start a revolution).
