Summary
“I don’t know if this counts as a purpose,” Steve says, softer now. “It’s not long-term, it’s not—hell, it’s not what I thought I’d be doing with my life. But it’s something. And right now something feels like more than I’ve had in months. If it helps me wake up without wanting to open the window and just—”
He cuts himself off, jaw tight, because saying it out loud feels like giving it too much weight. But the thought hovers there anyway. Falling. Head hitting pavement. Either ending everything, or breaking enough pieces to start over without remembering any of it. Without remembering Billy, or Barb, or Starcourt, or Vecna. Without remembering him.
His hand shakes as he wipes it across his jeans.
“You still…” His breath catches, chest caving in on itself. “You still take up every damn thought I’ve got... I don’t know how to stop missing you.”

Summary
Eddie Munson had lived through monsters before — real ones, with teeth and claws and a taste for blood. What he hadn’t prepared for was this: the way Steve Harrington kept pulling him into late-night conversations and half-lit car rides, like Eddie was supposed to know what to do with a heart that never stopped bruising.
It was supposed to be nothing. A slip, a laugh, a kiss that didn’t mean anything. Except Steve kept coming back, and Eddie kept letting him. Indiana still spat the same slurs, the newspapers still screamed about a plague in cities far away, and Eddie still knew better than to hope.
But hope had a habit of sneaking in anyway... tucked in the way Steve looked at him when he thought nobody else was watching.
—
Or: Eddie survived bats, Vecna, and Hawkins. What finally killed him was Steve “definitely straight, except when he isn’t” Harrington and his goddamn smile.

Summary
“You’re, like, pretty. Objectively.”
“Objectively?” Robin scoffed before gulping down a good mouthful of her drink. “Geez, you’re making it sound like you’re not even a little bit attracted to me.” She swung a light punch to the top of Eddie’s arm, like it was a joke.
But Eddie—still drunk and very much willing to overshare—mumbled out, “I’m not sure I’m really attracted to anybody, if I’m honest.”
OR
Summer of 1986, Eddie walks in on Steve in a very compromising position. And the real kicker—it's with another man.
Now, Eddie is forced to deal with all the complicated feelings he’s starting to develop—strange, considering he’s straight. At least, that’s what he’s always assumed…
[A spin where Steve is the certified (but very closeted) queer and Eddie spirals about his sexuality.]

Summary
A gruesome prospect is facing him.
‘I need your help,’ Eddie says, loathing himself.
The Wolf does not disappoint as he laughs softly and croons, ‘But of course, dear friend. Pray tell what I might do for you and consider it done.’
Eddie’s lip curls. ‘What a brat you are,’ he snarls. ‘Listen well. I am leaving this place tonight and you are coming with me.’
Gaze fixed unblinkingly on Eddie, Steve quietly asks, ‘Am I now?’
