“You were the main lead?”
“What? Is that so hard to believe?" he asked, amused, and turned around to meet Joshua at the counter.
He rested both arms on the table and raised an eyebrow questioningly. Joshua, who was standing on the other side, leaned forward and rested his head on his elbow, which was propped up on the table.“I just never thought you’d be the one who loves being in the spotlight." He looked Seokmin up and down. “But you definitely have the build for it," he grinned.
“Oh, really? Well, people have told me I’m really good.” Seokmin tried to play along, even though Joshua’s remark made his heart race. As always with their verbal sparring.
“I'd like to see that for myself." Joshua challenged, “But I guess you forgot all your lines already… That’s a shame; I really would have liked to admire your acting skills."
"Tsk, I know all my lines." Seokmin crossed his arms in feigned defense, "And even without them, I could impress you."
“Prove it,” said Joshua, grinning like a mischievous cat that had caught a mouse.

“Really? "Wow, that’s impressive …” he trailed, and it occurred to him that he hadn't asked for the other's name.
But the young man came to his assistance. “Seokmin”
“Seokmin, right." He nodded along and tried to find some explanation for how he ended up here.
There was a brief pause.
“And you are…?" Seokmin finally asked with a slightly amused undertone.
"Uh – I’m Joshua.”
Seokmin nodded and extended his hand, which Joshua automatically took. “Nice to officially meet you, Joshua.”
Still a little confused because of the situation, he asked, irritated, “I’m sorry, but…do you know me?”
Seokmin smiled like Joshua just said something really funny, which unsettled him even more.
“Oh yeah, you stalked me in the park.”

“I know that this time of year is very stressful for many of you, and I want to thank you for your hard work despite the many cases of illness.” Seungcheol cleared his throat.
“In order to maintain a good working atmosphere, we have...” This time, Soonyoung started coughing violently next to Seokmin, and Seokmin looked at him in confusion. Seungcheol rolled his eyes almost imperceptibly. “That's why I have come up with something for this year.”
People began to sit up straighter in their chairs, and Seokmin didn't have a very good feeling about this.
“We're going to play Secret Santa at our Christmas party.”
Someone behind Seokmin groaned in agony, probably Jihoon, and Seokmin couldn't even blame him. Probably some of the others were thinking the same thing. Only Soonyoung still seemed to be in a very good mood. Slowly, Seokmin began to understand...
“This is your fault, isn't it?” he whispered to his neighbour.
“I don't know what you mean,” he replied innocently. Seokmin groaned and rubbed the bridge of his nose. “God, Soonyoung, you can't be serious.”
“Just listen, you'll thank me.”

“Eunha, do you remember the young man in the subway?” he asked cautiously.
She seemed to think about it. “With the sad eyes? The one I gave the heart to?”
“Yeah, I saw him today, and thanks to your little gift, he’s feeling much better now!”
“Really?” she asked, excited. Seokmin nodded, although she couldn’t see him. “Yes, and he wants to thank you by buying you a hot chocolate. I’ll be there too, of course. What do you say?”
Eunha hesitated, and Seokmin could totally understand why. “You don’t need to if you don’t want to, sweetie.”
“You will be there all the time?”
“Of course, and I talked with him today, and he seems really nice,” he tried to encourage her.
“Okay, then I’d like hot chocolate.”
“I’m glad, because this can be a wonderful experience. You gave something good, so you get something good in return. That’s what life is all about."
