It’s only once the polite smile begins to turn strained that Chuuya notices he’s staring.
“No,” he replies, saving the poor man’s lips. He gestures to the empty seat. “You can sit.”
Chuuya's always been smart, yet he puts too much trust in his romantic partners. After getting stood up once again, he ponders on his naivety in a busy café. Enter Dazai Osamu, who claims there's no other free seat in the establishment.

“The Calamity God’s,” Dazai answers emphatically, “what does that have to do with anything?”
“I see,” Chuuya says, tilting his head. “Well, a lot more than you think.”
Or: Dazai's sacrificed to the God of Calamity, Arahabaki, at the age of eight and makes the god's temple his home. At fifteen, he meets a boy called Chuuya, who saves his life and then disappears. At eighteen, he meets Chuuya again...but this time he learns a bit more than he anticipated.

“It’s your birthday week. And that’s not even mentioning your current…” Dazai pointedly nodded at the sports drink, still unopened, on the bedside table. “…Status.”
“I can still cook while hungover,” Chuuya objected, but his eyes had no fight in them. He’d already settled back into a more comfortable sitting position, too. There was no doubt that he knew Dazai wouldn’t budge.
Dazai’s eyes softened. “I know you can, sweetheart.” He pressed a kiss to Chuuya’s forehead. “But I’m doing it today. No arguments.”

Summary
If Chuuya won’t talk to her, won’t look at her, won’t react?
Dazai will just have to make her react.
Which is no problem, Dazai spends day and night thinking of ways to pull reactions out of Chuuya. She just has to do it in a way that doesn’t end with a physical fight, or worse: with Dazai sleeping on the couch.
Or: When Chuuya gives her the silent treatment, Dazai resorts to some...interesting tactics to get Chuuya to crack.

Summary
When Jason died, Bruce immortalized on paper what grief refused to let him utter out loud, lest his loss become final and his defeat become permanent
Years later, a revived Jason would find those books and slowly piece together the shattered fragments of who his father was before he lost him, while reckoning with the fact that he was loved in every right way (and it had not saved him... and perhaps, it was never meant to)
And Bruce now has to reflect whether or not his inability to reconcile with uncontrollable changes in his son is brought upon by strategic bitterness or fear (or both, if god would allow it)
Because ultimately, there is no version of their family's story where one is totally in the right or wrong. There is only love; ugly, misguided, but honest, true love between people who are doing the very best they could.

Summary
Chuuya gives a sleepy grumble, patting the side of his head lightly. “Mornin’,” he slurs. “Lemme up.”
Dazai makes a disgruntled sound, tightening his hold on the other and rubbing his cheek against the skin of his collarbone.
“Up,” Chuuya insists, though he makes no attempt to move. It’s with that that Dazai knows he holds the power here, and he’s willing to wield it for as long as possible.
Chuuya wriggles slightly, but Dazai slings a leg over his hip, pinning him in place as he presses a light kiss to his jaw. Chuuya groans, going still, and Dazai knows he’s won.
Or: Dazai and Chuuya share a slow morning together. That's really all there is to it.

Summary
The neon sign hanging above the arcade looks just the same as it does in Chuuya’s memory, at least at first. The 'D' sputters in and out of existence after a couple seconds of observation, and repeats the action over and over the longer he stares at it. Tainted flickers momentarily along with it, but instead of solidifying like the sign eventually does, Chuuya’s ability fades completely with the loss of his concentration. But it’s not the sign overhead that makes him stop. Just a short distance down, pasted on the glass door, is a simple yellow sign with black block letters.
GOING OUT OF BUSINESS.
