Summary
Long lashes pulled apart to reveal mint green eyes, dazed and disoriented as they gazed blankly at Kurode. That pair of eyes seemed even brighter than usual in contrast to the pale pallor and crimson flush that painted the accompanying face. Devoid of their usual sharp perceptiveness, they stared up at Kurode for a tad too long for comfort before recognition lit up in them.
“Ku… ro… de…?” Merold asked quietly. His voice was weak and delicate enough that his fragile words could have been stolen by the smallest passing breeze.
“It’s me,” Kurode reassured his older brother as he pressed the back of his hand to the other’s forehead. The heat that met his touch only confirmed his suspicions. “You’re burning up, nii-san!”
// When Merold comes down with a fever, Kurode found himself having to care for his older brother.
