He does. He can’t help it. He’s fucking melting into the bed like Bob’s touch is magic, all of his thoughts dissipating in the sensation.
“That’s it,” Bob continues. His touch grows firmer – thumb rubbing circles into the knots in John’s shoulder. “Just relax. You’re doing good.”
The whimper that comes out of John’s mouth is entirely involuntary and incredibly embarrassing.
“Just like that,” Bob murmurs as if John hasn’t made a noise. “I’ve got you. You’re doing so good.”
It’s – he’s – John’s fucking burning up inside. He feels so warm. Doesn’t know whether to leave – to flee from whatever the fuck Bob’s words are doing to him, injury be damned – or to press back into the touch, to lean into the comfort and soak up these scraps he’s being offered.
(Five times John discovers his praise kink, and the one time he acts on it.)

Brook chuckled. “Yep. I actually knew that one.” He shifted lightly, his fingers starting to tap out a different tune. Brook grinned. “Yorki used to tease me mercilessly for having the wings and eyesight of a bat. I daresay I’ve heard about every possible fact and jab about Noivern that exists.”
Robin chuckled. “Pity. And here I was wanting to tease.” She finished picking the flowers out of one of his wings, moving to the other one. “You know, they are quite beautiful,” Robin mused.
“What?”
“Your wings.” Robin gestured at them with a hand.
“O- oh. Thank you.”
“You don’t believe me?” Robin tilted her head.
“I…” Brook hesitated, his hands switched tunes. “Maybe they used to be. But even if they were, it didn’t last. Beautiful things never seem to.”

A nudge comes from the right. "I think you just gained some points from our leader, Roki."

Geralt scrabbled around the table, throwing things aside after checking them, plates, platters, goblets, until one goblet he picked up smelled different to the rest. Strongly of wine, yes, but there was something else, something sharp that didn’t belong. He picked up more goblets, sniffing each and confirming what he was beginning to suspect. He then checked the jugs on the table until he came across the flagon Nathaniel had been using. The same sharp smell came from the wine within.
“This wine,” he presented the physician with the flagon, “It’s been poisoned.”
“The Lord’s personal supply?” the physician twitched, “Then why are all these others affected?”
“He was sharing it around,” Geralt remembered, “He –“
Geralt stopped dead. His blood ran cold.
“G-Geralt?” a small voice sounded behind him.
Geralt turned slowly, painfully, dread pitting his stomach.
“I, uh, I drank that wine,” Jaskier paled, eyes wide, “I drank it.”

Jaskier is annoying and whiny and spoiled, asking for things they can’t possibly afford when they need the money for essentials. Geralt eventually learns to tune out the bard’s crazy requests, yelling at him to shut up when he demands petty luxuries that Geralt will scoff at and never provide.
Geralt thinks he knows everything about Jaskier, until he collapses in the road and Geralt sees his tunic is patched, his boots worn out and his body weak with sickness.
“I don’t understand.” Geralt says. “He’s such a fussy bard. He whines to me about the style of his clothes and sweet dainties he wishes he had. Why didn’t he tell me he was hurting and cold and sick?”
The healer nods. “Seems he made those stupid requests so you would ignore his needs and get things you needed. He suffered to spare you necessity, but didn’t want you to know.”
Geralt turned to Jaskier and promised. "If you live, every good thing I can lay at your feet will be yours. Every sweetmeat, every trinket, every star in the sky, if it is within my power to give you, you will have it. I will make sure you never want for anything in your entire life.
"I swear, Jaskier. You wore yourself down rotten for me. I’ll spoil you sweet."
