Summary
The soldier lying upon the stretcher had lost more than two pints of blood, and more still was ebbing weakly from the gaping wound where their left arm would once have been. At once, medical staff began to buzz around their bed like flies to a corpse.
Through the drone of voices and the whine of machinery, a pneumatic door hissed open across the bay and an exceptionally tall woman stepped out. The room fell silent. She wasn’t often seen outside of her lab - so for her to curse the medical bay with her presence, something remarkable must be happening. Moira O'Deorain had come to claim what was hers.
