Summary
Imagine that the season three you just watched (or avoided watching) never existed.
As someone who desperately needs to practice writing, I have decided to write my own version of season three.
In my version, it takes place shortly after the second season (within a year).
Lexi is away at college and Fezco is in jail, but they keep in touch.
Rue is working at a vape shop and focusing on being sober.
Maddy and Rue are close friends, but Maddy is looking for human connection and Rue is looking for God.
Cassie is stalking Nate, desperate to weave herself back into his life.
However, Nate is broke and struggling after his father's imprisonment leaves his family with nothing.
Kat is away at college, trying to distance herself from her past. It seems to haunt her anyway.

Summary
Here’s the thing about Lexi. Fez knows better.
But he can’t remember ever feeling like he did when she came into the store, bright lipstick and a bright smile, like he got some kind of electric shock. Even just seeing her tugs at the edge of his mouth; he has to stop himself from smiling like a goof.
Nothing bad can come from just talking to her, right?

It's clear that Lexi wasn't exactly Ash's first choice for who to call, but he clearly needed help, and Lexi wasn't going to leave him hanging.
or,
in which Ash gets jumped and can only call one person for help, albeit unwillingly. he warms up to her, sort of.

Summary
The conversation feels heavy suddenly in a way Lexi can’t quite explain, like it’s the culmination of all the little ways they’ve been sneaking around saying what they actually mean. The "if I like a girl, I want to peel back the layers," the "that’s what I like most about you," the "that’s the important shit that people don’t post online."
Lexi will be the first to admit that she isn’t exactly well-versed in romantic relationships or flirting or any of the stuff she has more-or-less convinced herself is bullshit in all the years that she hasn’t been on the receiving end of it, but she would be silly to not realize that Fezco has been telling her something, is continuously telling her something every time they talk, every time they reach across the living room couch or the store counter or the center consul of the Cadillac to brush each other’s hands without ever acknowledging it.
Later, when they’ve hung up and her eyes are heavy with sleep, she will pull out her laptop, squinting at the brightness of the screen against the darkness of the night, and add a new line to her script.
A little exchange and I fall in love.

Summary
Sometimes, Lexi wanders too far. Strays too far from what ties her to the shakey ground beneath her.
And somewhere in the tightness of the air, Fezco is going to make sure she never loses herself.

Summary
He deserved the soft and careless world from the movies and the picturesque California that raised him; she deserved to be heard in a world not entirely made for her, the world that favoured bodies and empty-headedness. In the gaps between chaos and obligations, Fez and Lexi become a careful identity of shelter for one another between the quiet nights and bright days that surround them.
Their careful intentions both ground in respect and understanding, Lexi's bystander life has started to overlap with the soft-hearted duality of Fez. Two sides of an almost silent and surreal reciprocity that neither can seem to find the words to say out loud.

Summary
She’s just burrowed herself beneath the sheets, face clean and pajamas on, when her phone buzzes from somewhere beside her pillow.
“Hi,” she answers without hesitating. Her voice comes out as a whisper even though there’s not really a need to be quiet. Cassie’s not here and her mom’s asleep, but the darkness of her room makes the softness come out on instinct.
“Was wonderin’ if you’d be up still,” Fezco says in lieu of a greeting. His voice is quiet too, matching her tone. It’s easy to picture him at home on his couch, phone pressed to his ear while a movie plays quietly on the tv, a half-smoked joint on the coffee table.

Summary
Lexi likes talking to Fezco on the phone at night, likes tucking up in her bed under a far too big pile of covers, his voice soft in her ear. When she closes her eyes, she can almost pretend that she’s curled up next to him on his couch, that he’s here in her room instead.

Fez and Lexi reconnecting at a Valentine’s Day party. Written before ep 2.03, and I hate the miscommunication trope and resolving it so we just jump into their second party conversation. They are very sweet, I love them, idk what else to say.

Summary
There are plenty of reasons why Lexi withholds getting her license: less driving is better for the environment, biking is great exercise, and taking the bus or hitching a ride from a friend are always options. But one she's less keen on sharing is that she’s fucking terrified of the idea of driving. Luckily, Fezco happens to be a pretty good teacher.

“The truth was, he’d been happy to see her. Since meeting Lexi on New Years, he’d thought about her a lot—how smart she was, how nice her voice sounded, how pretty her smile was, especially when it was there because of something he’d said. Fezco had had his fair share of hookups, but he had very little experience with girls like Lexi Howard. She was smart, and brave, and sensitive, and he wanted to get to know her more.
Now, her thinking he was sleeping with Faye, a cracked-out idiot with lip fillers, was not ideal.”

Or, Fezco falls in love.

Summary
Lexi replies, “I’m here as a client.”
Fez’s expression shutters, and he studies her with a carefully blank gaze. “A client,” he repeats, like he’s making sure, surveying her from head to toe. It should make her uncomfortable, shifty on her feet; it just makes her kind of singe and burn with desire, as always. “This ain’t the fuckin’ stationery store.”
“I’ve been here before, Fezco,” she says, rolling her eyes. “But this time it’s different. I’m here to get something and leave, like everyone else does.”
“Somethin’ like what?”
“Adderall.”
He mouths the word to himself, his lips moving silently (and Lexi wants to kiss him. Wants to know what his mouth feels like against her skin, what words he would whisper into her neck—). Then, “Fuck.”
“I have the money,” says Lexi, even though she knows that’s not the issue at all. It’s more how Fez is looking at her like she’s something he’s already mourning.
or, lexi's a private school girl, and everybody knows private school girls are bad (but she's pretty sure none of them fall in love with their drug dealers).

"It's worse, now. You look... Santos, it's not good. She's not good for you. That's what I'm saying. And I know you're not going to listen to me, and you don't want to hear it, and I get that. I don't want to hear you talking about Amy—"
"You think it's anything like that?" She laughs, void of any amusement. She's burning, now. Hot and angry, feeling the flush of it rise in her skin, warming her cheeks and her chest. "Are you fucking serious?"
"I think it's worse," he says, quiet, refusing to back down entirely from the inferno. "I think it's worse for you, yeah. I don't think this is good for you, Santos. And it's getting worse."
Trinity doesn't want to take advice from the roommate who she thinks isn't going to stay around.

She just fell short. That’s all.
Maybe that’s all to it for Trinity. All the signs are pointing to the way out and Trinity knows how to get there. She’s known the way since she was seventeen.
