"So, are you ever going to tell me what happened, or should I just file this away into the "This never happened" cabinet in my mind?" Mike asks, trying for casual and knowing he falls just short, if Harvey's faintly amused snort is anything to go off of, delayed as it is. He gives Harvey time to formulate his response, moving on to cleaning blood away from the cut itself, murmuring apologies when the cloth brushed against the wound briefly.
"Boxing." Harvey mutters after a few minutes, just as Mike is ripping open a third wipe. "Didn't block in time." He cracks an eye open again, nose scrunching as his pupils absorb the little light around them. "Accident."
He says it like a reassurance, and Mike takes it as one, feeling the tenseness that'd built up between his shoulders relax. He nods once, making sure Harvey can see it before redirecting his attention back to the cut above his eye.
or: Harvey takes a nasty hit during boxing practice. It is universally agreed upon that Mike will clean him up during the aftermath. Set ambiguously in s2/3!

"I can see," He mutters, still fighting against his uneven breathing, "That shitty fake skeleton this frat put up by the steps to signify it's a Halloween party."
Mike lets out a breathless laugh of his own, fond amusement shining through the concern in his eyes when Harvey looks at him, and he can't help himself.
"I see you," he murmurs, too gentle, too much for the state he's in. It makes Mike's mouth do this thing where it goes soft at the corners, like he's suppressing a smile, and Harvey has to look away.
or: Harvey's panicking over leaving Mike after he graduates. Mike is helping him in ways he does and doesn't realise.

“should you be leaving our team without a support on the point?” he mumbles into his comm, still a little delirious. wuyang barks out a short laugh in return, the wind rushing through his own communications device and making his voice staticky.
“maybe not, but they can handle it. soldier’s got a biotic field after all, right?”
he appears in the doorway of the open ilios villa mizuki is huddled in not long after, a little damp but still smiling, like he was trying his hardest to get there as fast as he could while looking completely nonchalant about it. mizuki pretends he isn’t vaguely amused, or a bit flattered.
(he’s both, but that’s neither here nor there).
or: a joke that starts between himself and kiriko quickly devolves into something out of mizuki's control. though, he doesn't really mind if it means he gets the attention of a boy who puzzles him beyond reason.

“sorry for being late, i was up late last night working.” kaida replies brightly, though he tilts his head to the side like puppy afterwards. “fuwa-san told you guys i was coming, right?”
kanae is quiet for a moment, but fuwa watches curiously as realization slowly dawns in his eyes (about what, he’s a little unsure). he nods before clapping his hands together, shooting a look at kuzuha when the vampire opens his mouth to say something.
“well, i’m glad you could make it.” there’s something like amusement underlining kanae’s words, but fuwa pays no mind to it when he sees kaida light up. “we’ve been waiting for fuwacchi’s partner to arrive for a while now, actually.”
OR: while planning an outing with his friends to the mall, fuwa tells everyone that kaida will be joining them. the problem? he doesn't actually mention kaida by name- he simply calls him his partner instead.

"sometimes though, he felt like a certain spy knew more about him than anyone else ever had. more often than not, seraph felt like shikinagi understood him far better than kanato and watarai- that shikinagi made the effort to make sure he was the one who knew the most about seraph. before meeting him, seraph hadn’t felt like there was much to know about himself in the first place beyond the basics, but shikinagi seemed to notice things about him that seraph would have never noticed on his own.
sometimes, just sometimes, seraph liked to get his hopes up over it."
or: seraph dazzlegarden knows very little about himself. he doesn't think there's much to learn, if he's honest. shikinagi akira proves him otherwise. and of course, the gesture can't go unreciprocated.
