My retelling of The Swan Princess (1994) -
Two souls connected through mutual disdain, or so they thought.
Queen Uberta and King William have been friends since they were children, they shared the same dream of one day uniting their kingdoms in holy matrimony. With the birth of Princess Odette they decide to set their plan in motion: each summer they would force the pair together in hopes that they would fall in love.
But when Derek and Odette get off on the wrong foot and end up having a mutual hatred for each other, the dream of united kingdoms becomes dimmer by the moment. As they grow so will their feelings.

Someone commented on Reddit about a fic they'd read where Lydia was abandoned by Wickham, and Darcy employed Lizzie as a "hostess" in London. I spent *hours* looking for it, and since I couldn't find it I started writing my own. This is the result.
Be aware that this fic revolves around sex work, social attitudes towards sex workers, and women (and girls - the youngest is 14) of the era being forced into sex work through circumstances beyond their control. As such there's a lot of trigger warnings, but since I strongly dislike torture scenes, there are very few explicit depictions of non-consensual activity.
ODC smut will come eventually but not for a long, long time. We've got a lot of pining to work through to get there, and when we do get there, there will rapidly be more pining but I promise an HEA.Copyright 2024, Alicia Wallace. Please do not copy to other sites.
