Ch 24
There are great deal of reasons as to why I enjoyed this fic, but one that is standing out to me right now in bookmarking it is how attraction is described by Shane and Ilya. Both in general terms, and for others, but especially for each other. A big one with that last point being that they actually like the masculine or just natural make up of each others bodies? I'm not explaining it well haha, but I feel like sometimes when I read fics, especially if there's sex involved or if it's a romance between two dudes, there's often this underlying attempt to feminize or masculinize one of them--even when neither character presents that way. This fic doesn't do that, while still showing how they both draw comfort and offer comfort to one another, in sex and otherwise. I mean, heck--how body hair is described is so awesome?!?!?!? and sexy!??!?! and Ilya's obsession with Shane's armpits???? idk, it just feels so authentic, and is touching a part of my brain on my view of relationships that I don't yet know how to properly define, but feels important to remind myself of in this stupidly big note haha.
But yeah, well written, was very satisfying to read, and gives me a lot of food for thought/reminds me what I genuinely like to see in a relationship.
