Summary
Getting up from her spot, Seiko saunters over to the landline to check the caller ID, not that there’s many people who’d be conscious enough to call during an Empty Space outbreak.
“Ah, speak of the devel,” the old woman says as she picks up the phone. “Hey, Momo, what’s up?”
“Ah… Ms. Ayase-Person?”
The strange voice on the other end snaps Seiko from her pervious good mood into something more serious.
“Rokuro? What are you doing on this line?”“Oh, thank the stars, we need help! Mrs. Ayase-Person has started the process of delivery!”
“Uh… I’m gonna need you to say that in human speak, buddy.”
There’s the sound of static and rustling as the phone changes hands, and Seiko suddenly finds her eardrums blown out by her granddaughter’s screaming voice.
“I’m going into labor! The baby’s coming now!”

It's getting down to the wire on Momo and Ken's pregnancy. Everything seems to be in order, they just have to make it through delivery. Surely nothing else will go wrong in such a short amount of time... right?Finale to the "What Comes Next" series!

Momo turns to Ken at that, her husband meeting her eyes with a calm gaze. He shrugs his shoulders once, face and posture relaxed. She knows what he’s communicating without words, ‘It’s up to you.’
Momo hums for a moment before turning back to Yumi.
“Go ahead and tell us. Never been a fan of gender reveals anyway.”
Yumi gives the couple a nod. “Alright, let’s take a look…”

Ken glances over the top of his magazine, for just a moment. The looks on their faces range from surprised to indignant to disappointed, before they quickly flip back to unbothered. The gaggle of guys finally turn away from Ken, heads leaning together as they chatter about whatever, like they had never been bothering him in the first place.
Ken huffs, but goes back to his pages. At this point, he doesn’t have the mental energy for them. Besides, the bullying doesn’t spark feelings of loneliness so much anymore. After all…
