Summary
“You never kill me. I mean— You get close, or tempted to, but you've never once killed me in any version of this. Why is that?”
Inho stared off, not speaking. His jaw clenched, and Gihun knew it meant he was holding back. He'd seen him do it a hundred times, even if Inho would never remember.
“Are you afraid?”
This made him scoff, looking off to the side almost rolling his eyes in disbelief. “I've killed more people than I could count, in my first game and in yours. I've killed my own guards–”
“I wasn't talking about killing.” Gihun stepped closer, looking at him once again. “Are you afraid to lose me, Inho?”
Or
The one where Gihun is forced to relive the games over and over again until he gets it right.

Summary
He lowered his face into the curve of Gihun’s throat and breathed him in, deep, hungry.
Sweat, alcohol, motor oil, cheap cologne, and cigarette smoke clinging to his skin, it filled Inho’s lungs like oxygen after years of drowning.
“You don’t know,” Inho rasped against his skin, the words muffled, shaking. “You don’t know how long…how badly…”
His tongue dragged up the line of his throat before he could stop himself, hot and slow. Gihun flinched, then let out a broken laugh, half-nervous, half-pleasured.
“Inho-ssi, ahh, what are you…?”
OR
Since the moment Seong Gihun pulled him off the pavement at ten years old, Hwang Inho knew where he belonged, at Gihun’s side.
He never let go of that hand, not through childhood fights, not through first loves, not through college, jobs, or marriages. Through weddings and funerals alike, he stayed. Always close. Always watching. Always the shadow to Gihun’s sun.
But as we know shadows don’t just follow they cling, and as Gihun’s life spirals, divorce, debts, late nights at Inho’s.
Inho’s quiet devotion twists into something darker. What looks like friendship from the outside is, on the inside, obsession sharpened over decades.

Summary
“It’s Dove, our- well, your, new songbird.” No-eul was behind the bar now, placing a glass he hadn’t even heard her fill at his side. “He started a couple months ago. It was only a few nights at first, testing the waters.” She nodded her head at the stage, “Now he’s here nearly every day. Not sure I could make him leave even if I wanted to, they adore him.”
“Dove?” Apparently, he’d missed more then he thought. Seeing this place alive again though? That was a welcome change. The last time he’d visited it’d nearly been a ghost town, years of neglect had turned it into nothing more than an afterthought. He hadn’t realized how much he missed seeing it like this.
“You’ll meet him soon enough, I’m sure he’s curious to know who he’s working for.”
In-ho, formerly absentee jazz club owner, is set to meet his club's new songbird. Courtesy of No-eul. What could go wrong?

Summary
“Hwang Inho,” His assailant introduced stiffly and rattled off a lengthy sequence of numbers.
“Eh?” They’d given Gihun something for the pain and it was making him a little dizzy.
“My name and badge number,” The man said, his jaw clenched tight as he advised, “you should lodge a formal complaint to the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency when you are able to walk, sir.”
“Oh…ok.”
“Did you remember what I just said?”
Gihun’s head lolled. He blinked groggily at the figure dressed in all black. “Are you my nurse? This needle in my arm hurts. Could you blow on it?”
The man didn’t move.
“Please?” He whined, blinking back tears.
